Belated Birthday Cards

February 22nd, 2004 by Howard | No Comments | Filed in Observations

I could not remember a birthday if it was my own. Seems like days are slipping off of the calendar faster than Howard Dean is fading from the public’s memory. I’ve thought of a few solutions, like buying a ton of birthday cards, and spending one weekend just writing them all out for the next five years, then mailing them all. Five per person, with the notation on each card, “Do not open until your birthday 2006″ etc. Then, it’s their responsibility to hang onto the cards and open them one after another, on their appropriate birthday. However, some people may not be as advanced socially as I am, and would not cooperate. So, my next solution. I bought a stack of “Belated” birthday cards. Every card says something about “Sorry I missed your special day, bla..blaaa…blaaaaa. ” This way, a week or so after I remember someone’s birthday, I can just pull out that card and mail it off. So far it seems to work.
