Importance of Toilet Paper

January 18th, 2006 by Howard | 4 Comments | Filed in Main

Think about this. The modern toilet paper has only been around and in common use for about a hundred years. It was invented and mass produced in the late 1880′s in America and England. If you want to read the history of this product, you can go here, or here

Now think about this: 90% of all inventions were invented in the last 100 years or so. Coincidence? I think not.

Think about what we had in oh, say 500 AD. Now think about what we had in 1200 AD. Not much. Sure, some advances in art, and ships used better sails, etc.

Now, think about the last hundred years or so. Electricity, telephones, internet, aspirin, microwaves, space travel and nuclear power to name just a trace of the billions of things invented – after we had clean asses.

I rest my case.

Florida is Weird

January 11th, 2006 by Howard | 1 Comment | Filed in Main

I have a dream. Actually, after accepting Ron’s advice and skipping the coffee filters, I’ve had loads of dreams! Boy, who knew those paper filters kept back so much java juice? But, I wondered away from my original thought, which is Florida is stinking weird!!!! Can we go one week without making the headlines on FOX or CNN???? How about going one day? If it isn’t giant prehistoric snakes attacking alligators like some 1950′s Japanese horror flick, it’s Miami-Dade County prisoners fleeing the county jail by swinging down bed sheets or somehow leaping over three razor topped fences. Or a bank robbery and hostage situation. Or four hurricanes during one year. Or Florida International University professors admitting that they are Cuban spies! And those are just the weird things that make national news. Columnist Dave Barry reveals just a slice of some of the lower key weird activities here. Read his column here.

My dream? To live in a state that rarely, if ever, makes the headlines on FOX and CNN…….

Peace out people

CNN News Alert!!!!

January 9th, 2006 by Howard | 4 Comments | Filed in Main

Holy dough rolling beaver snot Batman! Headline on the front page of CNN website says Hilary Swank and actor husband Chad Lowe have seperated!!! Holy crap! Grab the kids, hide the cats, this must be an extremely serious news alert! After all, it is on the friggin front page of CNN!!!!

Who the hell are Hilary Swank, and who cares about Chad and why is this NEWS!!!!!??????

This planet sucks, I’m convinced that in reality, all of us, yours truly included, are retarded low life animals who are also friggin insane! That is the only thing that can explain the retarded, insane activities of our society. Oh my God, a filfty rich Hollywood couple have broken up! How stinkin unusual is that!?? It ain’t news. That is called gossip!

I repeat. This planet sucks. Allof us are walking around upright on our hind legs, but we are still hairy animals. Stipid ones at that.

Sorry folks, during January I routinely have a very, very low tolerance for this ball of rock that I am walking along the side of, as it whirls thousands of miles through deep space……

Later. Meanwhile, Hilary Swank and actor husband Chad Lowe are getting a divorce!!!!! OHMYGOD!!!!! Aghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!

Happy 2006

January 1st, 2006 by Howard | No Comments | Filed in Main

Another year has slid by like a huge orange cat on a frozen driveway. Two Thousand and Six is here. Yikes. For someone born in the 50′s, it is difficult to accept 2006. Wow. I grew up with 8 track players and pong. No internet, cell phones, cable TV, e-mail, Xbox, PDAs, wi-fi, computers or Ipods. My early childhood consisted of black and white television shows, big heavy telephones owned by the phone company, prayer in public schools and homosexuality a treatable abnormality. Now I watch video on my pocket PC, check email from wi-fi hotspots, use my cell phone (which is also a color digital camera) as my main line, and write a blog on the internet, which was not even around 15 years ago.

One other thing that is different. Personal freedom. We had it then, We don’t now. Cameras on the roads watching us 24/7? Not allowed then. They tried to do that in the 70′s but the outcry made them stop. Now we have lost most of our freedoms to corporations and the government.

2006. Wow. One thing hasn’t changed much. Gas mileage. Back in 1970 I was getting about 24 miles to the gallon, and I am almost getting that now. Of course, I was paying about 30 cents a gallon then, instead of $2.30 a gallon now. Something seems odd there.

Well, happy 2006 to you all. May God bless you, keep you safe, healthy, happy and out of jail.

God bless.
