I don’t eat at fast food places that often. But today I did. Lunch even. I got a Quarter Pounder, and it was made, placed in this little box that I photographed later:

And my lovely wife had something pretending to be chicken. It’s box is below:

You know what? This is a such a waste. The food was prepared, placed in these boxes, picked up within 20 seconds, stuffed in a bag, whereupon within 60 seconds we had them out of the bag and the box, consuming them. Except for the chicken wannabe sandwich.

So, these boxes were manufactured somewhere, trucked probably hundreds of miles, stored in the McDonald’s, and then they get to be used, and their entire life expectancy is no more than a minute and a half. And then they are tossed into the trash can where they will eventually receive another truck drive to the landfill.

 

Couldn’t they just wrap the food in paper? Do they really need these boxes???
