My wife and I dropped off a sick wild bird at the wildlife care center today, then enjoyed breakfast at the Floridian on Las Olas Blvd in Forth Lauderdale. After that we took a drive about the area capturing images of the architecture and scenery. Eventually we found ourselves driving north on A1A along Fort Lauderdale beach. I captured this image of a ship at sea.

I enjoy “street photography” which for me is quick snapshots while driving. Maybe that means it is really “Drive By Photography”. I caught this scene which for whatever reason I found eye pleasing.

What would a collection of beach photographs in Florida be without the world famous coconut palms???

Except for murder, robbery and aggravated assaults!

I love it! An article in the Fort Lauderdale Sun-Sentinel reports that for the fourth year in a row crime is down! Unless you count murders, robberies and people smacking you over the head with clubs and stabbing you in the gut with knifes.

So, what, cat kidnapping is down? Weasel abuse? What? And who the hell cares if we can’t come out from behind our barred windows for fear of being killed, robbed or assaulted?

UN-Believable.

Of course, stories like this have to have a positive spin because there isn’t anything else to do. No one has the guts to make the changes necessary to bring the crime rate down. That would mean better education in ALL schools, teaching honesty and respect, adults behaving with honesty and respect to be role models, reducing guns on the street, eliminating jails and prisons and developing real rehabilitation centers that get to the heart of the problem, and the death penalty being enforced weekly. Nope. Not gonna happen in our life time.
