I captured these in our back yard today about 15 minutes ago.
Red Bellied Woodpecker.
Most people call these Red headed Woodpecker, but the correct name is red Bellied because A) Their head is not entirely red and B) The red belly.
Painted Bunting. Yes, these birds do winter in South Florida. It took us years to create a habitat to attract them.
This is just a plain old common Ring Neck Dove. But in the right light pretty darn handsome!

Woodpeckers! Gotta love ‘em. My house is made entirely of pressure treated wood. I know because I built it. The termites and other insects won’t touch it, but the woodpeckers sure will. Now if only they would stick to trees, they would have more to eat and not bother me!
I’ve seem them go at the metal light pole down the street. Who knows….
