In 2007 outgoing Interior Secretary Dirk Kempthorne spent a quarter of a million dollars, $236,000, to redecorate his 100 square foot office bathroom. Yes, his bathroom.
Now consider that there are a little over 2, 048,467 civilian employees in the BFG, (Bloated Federal Government). Chances are a few of them have office bathrooms too!
Wow!
Oh, 20,589 of them each earn in excess of $180,000 a year, just from salary. That is $3.7 million dollars a year. I betcha each of these Big Government Bureaucrats have bathrooms. I wonder….
Total salary for everyone? Over $2 million dollars. A month. That was just for March 2012.
That does not count their dept or office budgets, expense accounts, etc.
So, you people out there who have achieved the American Dream by working hard and getting ahead, stop your whining about paying higher federal income taxes! We have a hugely bloated federal government to support for Pete’s sake! Don’t be so selfish!
I mean, really, where else would this inept-tards get other employment?
Some Blogging Guy
I “remodeled” the bathroom on one of our mobiles, recently. I cleaned everything, probably a novel idea for our BFG and replaced the vanity and some piping. Whole job? Under $200.00. What did I do wrong? I know someone I went to school with who works for the IRS, i.e. BFG, who doesn’t know how to change the sealing washer on the end of a garden hose. I once asked him what he does at the IRS and he answered, “projects”. I said what kind of projects and what does that mean? The conversation ended. He has lost his “top secret” govt laptop on three different occasions. He loves to brag about how much money he makes and once looked up MY tax returns when he feared that I made more money than he did (I know, that’s illegal). He can, however, push papers. I’ll bet there are a lot more like him in the BFG. He is, of course, an Obamabot. So, while our politicians fret about the debt limit, their motto is really BFD.
Aside from my personal experience above, I just found a quote that covers your topic perfectly.
I contend that for a nation to try to tax itself into prosperity is like a man standing in a bucket and trying to lift himself up by the handle.
– Winston Churchill
I love it!
