Shark Valley, Everglades National park

February 7th, 2010 by Howard | Filed under Photography.

On a spur of the moment, my wife and I took off in our car heading west on Pines Blvd. The sky was clear and blue, and the temperature was in the high 50′s, with low humidity. We knew this would be one of the last cold fronts until next November, so we wanted to soak it up.

After a stop at Starbucks for fuel we eventually hit Route 27. A decision was imminent. North? South? I was optional. I looked at my wife and her green eyes said South. So, south it was. After crossing from Broward county into Miami-Dade we veered southwest onto Krome Avenue, state road 997. As we sailed down the highway with trees and water on either side, windows open and the cool crisp air blowing my wife’s blond hair about, and tickling my handsome smooth head, we engaged in a wide ranging discussion that included the political philosophies of the founding fathers, the Magda Carter Magna Carta in England, and the French revolution.

Eventually we turned west on Tamiami Trail and in time stopped at Shark Valley in the Everglades National Park.

The weather was awesome, and the birds and gators were in abundance.

At this point, I’ll let the photography do the talking.

What an awesome Super Bowl Sunday!
