Back to Work
I have been off work for a few days, thus the time and energy to blog. I return to the Stupid Factory tomorrow. For the first time, I have not worked during my vacation, Not even checked my email. Last count, there were over 500 of them. Yikes.
Jetblue Nightmare
Wow. A Jetblue flight with 200 passengers got diverted and then stuck at Bradley International Airport for over seven hours! Food and water ran out, and the bathrooms clogged. What the hell? Isn’t that considered kidnapping? Can’t they let passengers to the terminal after an hour? That is just insane.
Speaking of airline insanity, I am trying to book a flight for work and US Air will charge me less for traveling more. I can fly to point A and then drive the hour to my destination, point B. or I can fly to point A and change planes and fly to Point B. It will cost me much less to take two US Air flights than one. What? No wonder airlines are doing so bad.
Occupy Again?
Dare I wander back to this topic? Why not!
First, some links:
Occupytogether has a list of all the official Occupy websites.
Occupystupidity Is trying to be funny but not doing so well….
Next, a sign I actually like!
While I think most of the protesters are idiots, I have to admit they are bringing up some excellent points. We are a country controlled by corporations, not the people. We have the best politicians corporate America can buy, starting with Obama. From Opensecrets.org, the top donors to President Obama’s 2008 campaign:
| University of California | $1,648,685 |
| Goldman Sachs | $1,013,091 |
| Harvard University | $878,164 |
| Microsoft Corp | $852,167 |
| Google Inc | $814,540 |
| JPMorgan Chase & Co | $808,799 |
| Citigroup Inc | $736,771 |
| Time Warner | $624,618 |
| Sidley Austin LLP | $600,298 |
| Stanford University | $595,716 |
| National Amusements Inc | $563,798 |
| WilmerHale LLP | $550,668 |
| Columbia University | $547,852 |
| Skadden, Arps et al | $543,539 |
| UBS AG | $532,674 |

| General Electric | $529,855 |

Hope the rain is gone for today!
Peace out people.
Some Blogging Guy

Sorry you’re back to work but glad you were able to truly disconnect for once. Whenever I do that, it feels like I’m able to enjoy my time off much more, the frustration will be there at work when you get back, whether you check your emails before or not
The thing with Jet Blue is insane. I don’t understand airlines doing that, I mean, can’t the people servicing the plane tell them: look, this is not a 5 minute fix, might take over an hour, let people deplane. What a mess!!
Holy crap that’s a lot of money by University of California!! Is that individual’s donating and being rolled up into one thing (very liberal university members obviously). WOW.
Thanks for your comments Allen. While off work I was able to place the work issues in their proper position on the worry chart. The key is to come back to work and not let them rise above where they should be.
Yeah, I thought JetBlue learned their lesson from a few years ago? I wonder if part of the problem is that they only carry a certain amount of fuel in order to save money, and when they must divert, they have few choices? I would think the airport would tell them not to divert there if they can’t handle them?
